Who Karutek is

Since the publication of The Van Conversion Bible in early 2021, Nohma has grown from just Charlie and Dale running the business from their campervan, to a nomadic team of 17 working remotely from vans and off-grid houses across the world.

We implement, localise and support compliance and operations systems for companies that need their records to hold up: aviation operators and MROs first, then any audited industry.

Charlie Low

Co-founder

With a fascination for space and a love of maths, Charlie used to dream of becoming an astronaut. After studying Physics w. Astrophysics at university, she went on to become Head of Analytics & Insight for a travel company, working in data analytics, digital marketing and software development.

After spending almost 5 years office-bound, she handed in her notice so she could swap her 9-5 job for life on the road. Charlie loves nothing more than being outdoors, whether climbing a rugged sea cliff, bivvying up an alpine mountain, or wild swimming in a chilly, glacial lake.

For the past 4 years Charlie has combined her scientific background with her marketing and data skills to both work on developing Nohma’s complex algorithms, and ensure that everyone who needs help with a converting a van knows about Nohma.

Dale Comley

Co-founder

Dale has always been intrigued by how things work, and spent much of his childhood building and inventing things. After finishing his degree in Product Design, he worked as an engineer in a design consultancy, before going on to become Lead Engineer at a large tech company.

Since quitting his job, he’s enjoyed swapping daily commutes for early morning adventures. Dale has been climbing since he was tiny, and loves nothing more than a bit of suffering, whether that’s climbing a big wall or carrying a bag that’s almost as heavy as he is.

Dale has enjoyed using his engineering and design experience to advance Nohma’s electrical design service; ensuring everything runs efficiently, every system is fit for purpose, and every wiring diagram is clear and easy to understand.
